Ming Quay


Ming Quay is a contemporary composer and pianist living in Melbourne, Australia. Ming began learning classical piano and Yang Qin as a child. Ming was active in the performing arts not only as a musician but also in theatre and dance - most notably as Cookie Monster in An Australian Production of Sesame Street Live! in Singapore. After graduating with a second upper Honours Bachelor's Degree in Musicology from King's College London, majoring in music composition and analysis, Ming remained active in the theatre scene in Singapore by composing for various theatre companies, where he was commissioned to compose music for the Singapore Dance Theatre for the opening of Esplanade - Theatres by the Bay. After moving to Melbourne, Australia, he studied at the Abbey Road Institute where he graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Music Industry. This program elevated his skills and knowledge in music production, aiding in his twelve neo-classical releases, collaborating with artists across the globe - The Wong Janice (Amsterdam), Kenji Azuma (Tokyo), Little Symphony (Canada) and Christopher Rye (London).
